Samsung releases new commercial for Galaxy Camera starring James Franco
Samsung has been working hard lately to release some clever commercials detailing their new products’ features, and today its Samsung’s new Galaxy Camera‘s turn to be in the limelight. The commercial was uploaded to Samsung’s Youtube page this morning and stars famous actor James Franco. In it, Mr Franco is cruising around a party and bumps into various scenarios where his Galaxy Camera’s features come in extremely handy. The use cases are actually pretty realistic and I could see why some of you photo buffs might want to pick one of these guys up. Samsung does a good job showing you the great features of the camera, while garnering a chuckle or two while you watch. Check out the video below.

Samsung Releases New Commercial For Galaxy Camera Featuring James Franco
Samsung has always done a great job with their commercials and has produced a great amount for the Galaxy S III. Now it’s the Galaxy Camera’s time to shine. The commercial was uploaded just this morning featuring famous actor James Franco. The commercial will give you a good laugh or two while Franco demonstrates how the Galaxy Camera works in real-life scenarios. In example, one scene shows a party guest falling in the water with his camera shorting it out and losing all of his photos. Franco then demonstrates that the Galaxy Camera backs all of your photos up on the Cloud so if a similar situation were to happen you would still have access to all of your photos. Samsung probably has their own app that does this, but since the Galaxy Camera is essentially a Galaxy S III strapped to the back of a camera, I would assume you could back-up your photos to your favorite cloud storage space like Drive or Dropbox.
Make sure to check out the commercial below!

[Video]Watch James Franco try out the Features in the Galaxy Camera
Why do we need a Galaxy Camera? For pictures…DUH! Okay, so we really do not need a Galaxy Camera since our phones do a lot of awesome things with the pictures we take. Many of you that were wondering what kind of features come with the camera, have no fear…James Franco is here. A new video with actor James Franco has shown up on the web, with the star at his own party going around to his guests taking pictures and utilizing the numerous features the camera has. Check out the video below for those features, as well as the bad acting.
Samsung posts Galaxy Camera ad starring James Franco
Samsung’s new Android powered Galaxy Camera has blasted onto the scene with both AT&T, and Verizon 4G LTE connectivity. Add in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and you have one extremely smart and powerful camera. While many might believe this is a niche product Samsung’s just released a brand new commercial starring actor James Franco that shows some of the true power behind their Galaxy Camera.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen him in a Samsung commercial, but we’ll take him over Ashton Kutcher any day. I can’t help but think of Franco from Pineapple Express, which was awesome, but either way the commercial is actually pretty impressive. Samsung doesn’t just talk about it being a smart-camera, instead they focus on the “actual” uses from having Android powering a camera.
Get rid of photobombers with instant cropping, save photos instantly to Dropbox. You name it, the Samsung Galaxy camera can probably do it. Samsung’s been showing the real life experience we can expect with their devices in their latest ads, and I’m certainly a fan here. Check it out:
The ad is a bit long, but sure shows all the potential and power this Android touting camera has to offer. In case that video didn’t quite sell you on their device you can also check out our AT&T Galaxy Camera Review. Verizon just launched it as the first 4G LTE camera on their network, for $549, so get it and upload those 16MP photos and 1080p videos to Facebook and YouTube in minutes.
James Franco, the ultimate multitasker according to Samsung, delivers another awesome performance here with a rather long commercial. Showing just how fun, powerful, and effective their new Samsung Galaxy Camera can be. What do you guys think?

Pocket Warwick Review
Available On: Android, iOS
Price: Free
Download: Google Play | iTunes
Chances are that you have never heard of Pocket Warwick, as its only recently released on iOS, and has just been ported to Android. Pocket Warwick is a game featuring famous British actor Warwick Davis. Now, Pocket Warwick isn’t a game full of action, mind-bending puzzles or anything like that. It is a extremely casual game where you have Warwick Davis as the character you play as. Your job is to make sure he’s entertained, his energy levels are doing well and etc. If you’ve ever played the Sims before, you’ll know exactly what to do almost right away. On top of making sure Warwick’s levels are being maintained, you also have the ability to accept jobs from your agent, which earns you experience and coins to spend in the store.
That’s pretty much the main goal of the game, but that does not mean Pocket Warwick isn’t loaded full of comedic features. Some things you can do with your pocket Warwick is touching his head to grab him and hold him up in the air. That or you can constantly tap his head until you knock him over (the sounds he makes is literally amazing). Keep in mind that by doing this you quickly knock down his happiness levels, which isn’t really a good thing to be doing if you plan on doing jobs from his agent consistently. Another thing you can do with Pocket Warwick is tilt your device to the left or right. This will act as if Warwick’s room is literally turning, thus he will slide down whatever way you are tilting the screen. Little features like these make the game worth it to play.
Overall it’s a very well designed game. I like how doing different things within the game will affect different meters. You’re always in a constant state of trying to keep Warwick maintained, which is what makes the game fun — you constantly have something to do. One thing that I don’t like about Pocket Warwick is how the economy works. Some tasks require that you buy a new piece of clothing or buy a new book to read. Buying those things prepare you for the task, but when you complete the task they don’t give you enough money to reimburse those purchases. That said, most of the time you barely have any coin to do anything with. It makes it extremely hard to upgrade things like your TV, couch or computer desk. Paying 25 coins for something and getting a return of 5 coins just seems a bit odd to me, I guess.
Pocket Warwick is a great game, in fact it was better than what I was expecting after watching an interview with him on the upcoming game. I hope the developers of the title end up giving you a bit more of a reward payout than the measly amount most tasks will give you.
At the end of the day, it is a free game that requires you to purchase absolutely nothing (although micro transactions are an option). You can pick up on either the iTunes store and Google Play.
Samsung Galaxy S3 lasts slightly longer in blender than iPhone 5

The fine folks at BlendTec have continued their fine heritage of appliance-based science by seeing whether or not the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the iPhone 5 are able to survive industrial-strength spinning blades. The short answer is no, neither of them can withstand BlendTec's whirling wrath, but as you can see from the video below, the Galaxy S3 manages to stay mostly in one piece longer than the iPhone 5. Some other decidedly more practical (though less scientific) toughness tests have show that the SGS3 doesn't fare quite as well against the iPhone 5 in drop tests.
I was actually in a live Q&A with the Blendtec CEO a few weeks ago specifically to ask if they were going to do an episode for the iPhone 5. He had said then that the actor was all booked up, and they wouldn't bother doing one if they couldn't do it shortly after Apple's launch day. It's great to see they went ahead and did a video anyway and included the SGS3 for comparison. While I think it's safe to say that "Will it Blend?" has become a badge of honor for many gadgets, it is a little sad to see all of that hard work by factory employees disappear in a puff of toxic black smoke.

Google Now Can Tell You an Actor’s “Bacon Number”
Google Now is definitely one of the best, if not, THE best feature running on Jelly Bean. Not as talkative as SIRI, but us in the Android community did not really care about how much the voice feature would talk, just how quickly it retrieve the information we asked for. I mainly used it to find out actor’s ages, or how tall they are. Yeah, I would ask it things that would help in my everyday life as well, but there is an entertainment value that comes with knowing ages and heights of actors. Looks like Google Now has something new for us to ask it.
Most of you no doubt have heard about the Kevin Bacon six degrees of separation. This is where you would link any actor with Kevin Bacon, using actors they have worked with, that have worked with him. It is a fun game. Being somewhat of a movie buff, my friends would always try to stump me with random actors. I would always find a way though.
Google Now can now answer an actor’s “Bacon number”. Simply ask it, “What’s (so and so’s) Bacon number?” Then quickly it will pull up the number as well as the movies and actors that link them. It is nothing to exciting, but it gives you something new to ask Google Now when you are bored. Which reminds me, I think I shall ask it Chuck Norris’ Bacon number. Believe it or not, its two. There should be a Chuck Norris joke for that. “Chuck Norris does not have a Bacon number…Kevin Bacon has a Norris Number.” Something like that. Let us know what you guys think about this.

James Franco stars in Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 10.1 commercial
Samsung has already started what will likely be a huge marketing campaign for their hot new device, the Galaxy Note 10.1. A brand new commercial has popped up for the device that stars actor James Franco. The lengthy commercial (at just under 3 minutes), shows off some of many uses for the Note 10.1, such as drawing a portrait, videotaping fast-moving action, and solving equations. Enough explaining though, check it out for yourself!

U.S. Marketing Campaign for the Galaxy S III launches
The Galaxy S III, Samsung’s flagship phone for the year, is ready as ever for its American debut. For the first time ever, Samsung’s Galaxy S line has uniformity within all of US carriers. This means every Galaxy S III in America will look the same and will actually have the same name. This means no more of that added Epic 4G Touch and Skyrocket discrepancies within the names. So you can bet that Samsung is ready to market this phone out like it has never before. This video from Samsung kicks off the start of this marketing campaign with Samsung proudly touting the multi-tasking king that is the “pop-up video” feature where the actor is texting and watching a video at the same time. Checkout the video and see for yourselves! Does this make you even more excited for its pending US release?

Viewdini hits Play to help find video, if you’re on Verizon
A week and change after it announced Viewdini, Verizon has it ensconced in the Google Play store. If you’re on Android 2.2 or greater and have a 4G LTE plan, you can install the app at no charge, and start your search by typing in the name of a movie, actor or genre you want to see. The app will scurry off and check net-based providers like Hulu, mSpot and Netflix, along with cozy new chum Comcast’s Xfinity, and bring back relevent titles along with their price and availability. Further pawing will reveal critic reviews and ratings, filmographies, related picks and other info — just keep one eye on that data limit.
[Thanks, Artem]

LG Prada Phone 3.0 looks good, showcased by Edward Norton and model Daria Werbowy
Surely a smartphone being marketed by PRADA wants to look good. LG and PRADA have teamed up for a third time with their new smartphone the PRADA by LG 3.0 and it is available now in the UK. What better way to show off their fashionable and sexy phone then with a few excellent models and actors. They’ve done just that and have employed the looks of two well known stars for their new campaign.

LG has launched their new PRADA campaign with Edward Norton (Fight Club, American History X, Primal Fear, The Score, The Hulk) and popular UK model Daria Werbowy to be the face of the fashionably smart PRADA 3.0 smartphone. We received some hands-on with the new PRADA last year and more details on that can be seen below. While Norton is mainly a US actor we most likely wont be seeing the PRADA by LG 3.0 in the states anytime soon, but we can hope right?
The PRADA 3.0 combines PRADA’s elegant and fashionable style with LG’s innovation making the best of both worlds — or they’d like to think so. The device comes equipped with a 4.3″ NOVA display and boasts a 1.0 GHz dual-core processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has been heavily skinned and isn’t too familiar but still looks quite nice. The faces of these stars may or may not help this device sell well but either way we’d love to check it out again if they decide to bring it to the US.

LG taps actor Edward Norton, model Daria Werbowy to rep PRADA phone by LG 3.0
A high-end fasion phone needs high-end spokespersons, no? LG has scored actor Edward Norton (The People vs. Larry Flynt, American History X, Fight Club, The Incredible Hulk) and model Daria Werbowy to be the faces of the PRADA phone by LG 3.0.
It's a good-looking phone, as you've no-doubt seen from our hands-on with it in London last year, and now it's got a couple of good-looking (and talented, natch) faces to go with it. Said LG in a news release:
Both individuals embody the core values behind the PRADA phone by LG 3.0 – stylish looks and smart functionality. Both are stars who have excelled in their fields and represent the ethos of style and substance; Norton is an Academy Award-nominated actor, whilst Werbowy holds the record for opening and closing the most catwalk shows in one season, as well as being one of the top earning models of recent years.
The PRADA 3.0 is the latest collaboration between the fasion name and the Korean manufacturer. The smartphone features a 4.3-inch NOVA display at 480×800 resolution, a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor at 1GHz, 8GB of on-board storage, an 8MP camera with autofocus and a unique black-and-white user interface.
That doesn't do much for bringing the PRADA 3.0 to the United States anytime soon, but it's now available in the UK for around £430 ($670).
Mystery Samsung Phone Appears, Mock Up Of Galaxy S III?
Hmmmmm, the above picture of the Samsung device sure doesn’t look familiar. It’s not the Galaxy Note, so could this be an actual mock up of what will be the Galaxy S III?
The mysterious phone made its brief appearance during a video Samsung released to commemorate its press conference at CES 2012. You can see the phone casually being used by an actor appearing after the 7-minute mark in the video. Of course this phone again could be a mock up and perhaps pure speculation, but this phone sure does grab one’s attention, doesn’t it? This is especially true with this mystery phone’s gorgeous screen that appears to be bigger than the 4.3-inch Galaxy S II and more in line with the Galaxy Note. Also of note is the top bar and more specifically– the battery icon appearing to be a tad different than traditional Androids, but again we can’t stress this enough: this could just be a mock up, not an actual depiction of the Galaxy S III.
Stay tuned with Talk Android for updates regarding this mysterious Sammy device. In the meantime, check out the video below to get a better view of the mystery phone in action.

Elijah Meets Justin Bieber At CES
This week at CES the stars were everywhere.
First off we were surprised at the Sony press conference with an appearance by actor Wil Smith. Smith was there as Sir Howard Stringer, CEO of Sony was showing off the Sony cameras used to film MIB3.

At the same event Sony recording artist and the first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson dazzled the media with an acoustic performance of her hit “Mr. Know It All”.
We also saw 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Dennis Rodman, Earth Wind & Fire, Eliza Dushku, Felicia Day and more.
On Wednesday though, our apps editor Elijah Ketchum got to meet pop sensation, Justin Bieber. Bieber was at the Tosy booth to promote a new media and entertainment robot that will be available in time for Christmas 2012.
Bieber’s girl friend Selena Gomez wasn’t on hand for CES however a company called Postcard On The Run, which Gomez heavily invested in, was exhibiting in Eureka Park.
Siri’s UK voice answers questions about his journey to the iPhone 4S
The first rule of being Siri is do not talk about being Siri — but Jon Briggs, the voice of the iPhone helper’s British version, has, fittingly, has bucked that trend. Apple’s preference for mystery surrounding the matter hasn’t silenced the one-time tech journalist turned voice over actor who discovered that he was the voice of the 4S’s assistant upon hearing his “flat and even” readings played back on a commercial for the handset. Briggs told The Telegraph that he recorded the basis for the British Siri five or six years ago, speaking some 5,000 sentences over the course of three weeks for “a decent sum.”

A look inside Verizon’s test car: we go heads-in at CTIA E&A 2011
Imagine if Verizon’s Testman was actually the admiral of a fleet of Chevy Tahoes, all dedicated to the purpose of testing and comparing networks and asking if others can hear them now over a million times each year. The famous Testman himself is just an actor, of course, but Verizon’s self-proclaimed “test cars” are a thing of reality; in fact, the fleet numbers a cool hundred nationwide. We had the opportunity to take a quick peek inside one of these cars, each of which drive an endless number of miles to measure the performance of not only Big Red’s network, but its competition as well.
You wouldn’t recognize any of these unmarked cars if they drove past you on the street unless you were trained to look for the outside clues: on the roof lies a GPS module in concert with several black nubs, each one acting as its own phone antenna. If you look close enough at the back windows, you may be able to make out the multitudes of USB data sticks taped to them. All of these elements are crucial for Verizon in order to collect real-time data on how its network stacks up against the likes of AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, not to mention regional carriers such as Cricket and MetroPCS. Thus, each test car is equipped with phones that work on almost every network and try each one out thousands of times a year. The company’s goal? To ensure that it maintains a standard of excellence in its network performance for both its voice and data quality. So how does this all happen? Read on past the break to find out what’s inside the car.

Hi everyone, I’m Ashley Esqueda; you might know me from Twitter (@androidashley) or my show Techfoolery. In a stroke of awesome luck, Phil and the guys here at Android Central asked me to cover the Radio Shack launch party for the HTC EVO 3D in Hollywood, Calif. I’m a huge EVO fan, so I packed up my video equipment, put on a hip outfit, and headed to the green carpet!
It was a star-studded event, with celebs like "Chuck" actor Zachary Levi and socialite Paris Hilton making appearances, so it made for a fun night of merriment and technology. Black Beauty (the sweet ride featured in the Green Hornet) made an appearance to promote the 3D version of the movie and its availability on the EVO 3D, and club favorite LMFAO performed for attendees.
Overall, it was a pretty sweet event. Check it out!
