BEST DEALS: Unlimited data, calls & texts on £16 T-Mobile SIM
T-Mobile UK has SLASHED the price of its unlimited SIM offerings, selling a SIM with unlimited calls, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile data for £16 a month. If you’re anywhere near anywhere that gets decent T-mobile coverage, that’s a stonking great deal.
The SIM price discount “must end Thursday” for some arbitrary reason T-Mobile has plucked out of the air, so you’ve got less than 24 hours to decide.
The 12-month deal is being advertised on the front page of T-Mobile UK, via the “SIM only offer” tab on the main banner. Go get it.

HTC to launch Best Deals coupon app for discount-chasing Europeans
In a curious move by smartphone maker HTC, it’s announced it’ll be launching a new coupon service called “Best Deals.” The app / widget combo will aggregate offers from 12 pushers, including familiar names like LivingSocial and Trip Advisor, although HTC hopes to add more categories in the future with further partnerships. The service will show you local deals tailored to your tastes, as well as exclusive offers on HTC products, which you can sort, review, bookmark and share from within the app. Discount-hunters from the UK, Italy, Germany, France and Spain will get first access to a catalogue of 1,700 initial deals on the 8X / 8S Windows phones and Android One X+. OG One X and One S owners will find themselves that little bit richer shortly after, snagging the app via a software update. There’s no word on plans to bring the deal aggregator to North American shores, but for Europeans, it’s time to start thinking about which spa treatment you want first.

HTC ‘Best Deals’ service to arrive on One S, X and X+

HTC is to launch its own "Best Deals" app on upcoming Android and Windows Phone 8-based handsets, the company has announced.
Partnering with services like Living Social and Trip Advisor, HTC's Best Deals will hook customers up with deals in their local area, which they'll then be able to catalog and share. HTC says it'll launch with over 1700 deals initially, across five European countries and twelve deal providers.
Best Deals will be available at launch on the HTC One X+, as well as the company's new Windows Phone 8X and 8S handsets. It'll also be pushed out to the One X and One S in a future software update, likely the same on that brings Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to those devices.
We've got more details in the full press release after the break.
HTC to launch money-saving app called ‘Best Deals’ for the One X+, One X, and One S
HTC just announced “Best Deals” which will deliver personalized money-saving deals direct to your HTC smartphone. It will be based on your preferences and interests, as well as your location. They can be reviewed, bookmarked, or shared with a single click.
For now it looks like it will only be available in the UK, Italy, Germany, France, and Spain. They expect to have about 1700 deals at launch from 12 leading deal providers, which include Living Social, Trip Advisor, Qype Deals, and Offerum.
The application and widget will come with the new HTC One X+ and it will eventually arrive on the One X and One S with a software update shortly after. It will also be available to Windows Phone users via the 8X and 8S.

UK, 26th October — HTC, a global leader in mobile design and innovation, today announced Best Deals, a new service that delivers personalised money-saving deals direct to your HTC smartphone.

BEST DEALS: LG Optimus Black, £189 unlocked
One of LG’s better Android phones of 2011 has had its price literally SLASHED TO PIECES by online retailer eBuyer, which is now selling the skinny and stylish 4″ Android mobile for £189 unlocked. That’s ludicrously cheap for a very fancy phone with dual-cameras, a quality 480×800 screen and LED flash.
It’ll arrive with Android 2.2 onboard, but LG’s recent Android 2.3 update ought to be waiting there for you, in the ether, upon boot.
Pretty sweet. We’d definitely go for that if we were representative of your everyday consumer.

BEST DEALS: Motorola RAZR / Galaxy S II, £20.43 per month
The rather exciting new Motorola RAZR is already the subject of a very nice discount over at the Tesco Phone Shop, which will sell you one on a T-Mobile contract for “free” and a £20.42 monthly tariff.
It’s a decent enough calling plan, too, coming with 300 minutes, plus T-Mobile’s “unlimited” data plan and a 500MB booster. Which we’re always a bit confused by, but would seem to be a good option. And it includes that £20 of free apps deal, too.

BEST DEALS: LG Optimus 3D, £299 SIM-free
If, for some very odd reason, your dream next Android phone is LG’s massive Optimus 3D, there’s a decent offer on for it over on Amazon – where it’s being sold unlocked for £299. That’s a pretty hefty discount to the £400+ the unlocked version of phone’s been going for thus far.
It’s being sold by one of Amazon’s third-party partners, but still includes free delivery in that cost.
We did a review of it here. We didn’t like it very much at all, despite the excellent 3D effects it generates. We’d recommend you don’t buy it, but if you absolutely must we won’t create a scene.

Report: Orange San Francisco II launching November 21st, for £99
The slightly new, slightly updated Orange San Francisco II looks like it’ll be going on sale within the next couple of weeks, thanks to a report claiming it’ll arrive in-store on November 21st. The price has been quoted as £99, although that apparently includes a £10 discount applied during launch week.
So the usual price will be £109, which includes £10 of credit. Which is only marginally more expensive than the original San Francisco…
…which makes sense as the San Francisco II is only a marginal increase in tech performance. And its collection of buttons look a bit “entry level”.

Orange San Francisco II – Android 2.3 the main update
Orange’s Help & Support site has started dishing out advice on how to use the Orange San Francisco II, despite the phone not yet having been put on sale – or even announced. The site says the Orange San Francisco II runs Android 2.3, with a 5megapixel camera and 800×480 display.
Inside sits an 800MHz ARM11 processor plus 512MB of RAM. Technically speaking, it’s more of a slight tweak than a major jump…
…but then again, the first San Francisco was so far ahead of the competition back in its day, this is still going to be a decent phone. If it’s sold for a competitive price.

Carphone Warehouse now taking Galaxy Nexus pre-orders – “free” on £36 Orange tariff
Phone specialist Carphone Warehouse has opened up its pre-ordering campaign for the Galaxy Nexus, offering the forthcoming Android 4.0 phone on a variety of monthly plans. Fairly expensive monthly plans, though, with the cheapest “free phone” option being to sign up for a £36 monthly contract.
It’s only allowing users to pre-order with Orange SIMs at the moment, with that £36 getting you 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of mobile data. Or you can pay £149 for the phone on a £26 monthly fee. Which would do if you’re in comfortable range of an Orange mast.
There are lots of choices. We can’t list them all. That would be madness. Check out CPW’s Galaxy Nexus price plans here.

…which is quite a bit more than the £329 you can pick up the standard wi-fi XOOM for in most places a the moment.

HTC Sensation XL now available on Three – from £34 per month
Ooof. Three UK has now started listing the HTC Sensation XL on its web site, with the massive 4.7″ Super LCD phone yours for “free” in return for a contract starting at £34 per month. And that’s the cheapest option, too, offering 500 calling minutes and 1GB of data.
Not a bad contract in terms of stuff you get to use, but quite a hefty price for quite a hefty phone.
The phone itself can be bought on a PAYG basis through Three for £449 if you’d prefer to do it that way, and if you’re not waiting for the Nexus Prime instead. Check out Three’s Sensation XL price plans here.

Motorola XOOM Android 3.2 update now live in Europe – for wi-fi models
Motorola has pushed the big red RELEASE UPDATE button in Europe, pushing out the official Android 3.2 OS upgrade for its XOOM tablet. But according to Moto’s European team, this update is ONLY for those with the wi-fi version of the tab, as Motorola is still “working through the testing and approval phases” for the 3G version of the code.
So good news for wi-fi XOOM owners and yet more rage for buyers of the 3G model.
The Android 3.2 release notes are on Motorola’s EU support site here [PDF], revealing what’s new and different, if you’re one of the few XOOM buyers out there.

Plus you can opt to pay an extra £3 per month to have an “All You Can Eat” unlimited data bundle alongside it, for £30 in total. Which is pretty good…

The shop is selling red and white versions of the Liquid for £79, plus has also discounted the newer, smaller beTouch E110 to the same price.
It’s pretty old, so probably best for extreme Acer fans or those trying to build a collection of all the weird Android phones we’ve seen.

It’s not the best contract in the world, but you do get 200 calling minutes, 3000 monthly texts and there is a data usage allowance, too – but it’s only 100MB. But still. It’s an Arc S for a shade over £20.
If you conduct your online business and data syncing exclusively through wi-fi, it’s a cheap way to get one of the best Android phones out there today.

HTC Rhyme on sale via O2, from £13.50 per month
The HTC Rhyme has now launched in the UK, with network O2 the first to start offering HTC’s latest Android phone. The phone, which is exclusive to O2 in the lovely “plum” colour, can be had on contracts starting as low as £13.50 per month, although that’s with a near-useless 50 calling minutes per month and 100MB of mobile data.
You’ll be best off fiddling with O2′s sweet package sliders yourself and working out a better plan than that.
The Rhyme’s main selling point is that it comes with HTC’s updated Sense user interface. Apart from that, it’s a pretty middle-of-the-road 3.7″ Android phone by today’s standards.

BEST DEALS: Archos 80 G9 tablet for £171 at Dixons
This is a bit odd. UK retailer Dixons has started selling the Archos 80 G9 Honeycomb tablet, which it’s listing for £171 – significantly cheaper than buying the tablet direct from Archos itself, which still wants £199.
In return for your money you get an 8″ tablet running Android 3.2 on a 4:3 aspect ratio screen, powered by a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP processor.
The 80 G9 has had a mixed reception. Some users have had models that feature crazy screen distortion, although Archos claims this was an isolated manufacturing flaw that’s since been rectified.

BEST DEALS: Motorola ATRIX down to £291, unlocked
Online retailer Play.com has decided to launch a random PRICE CRASH SALES FURY ATTACK on the Motorola ATRIX, chopping the price of Motorola’s dual-core smartphone down to £291. Although that isn’t what you would call “cheap” for an Android phone these days, it a huge amount cheaper than it was when it launched on the SIM-free retailers back in June for just short of £500.
A good price if you’ve been waiting for it to come down to a sensible level. That’s what we mean.
Obviously you’ll be stuck with Android 2.2 for the time being, with Motorola currently expecting the 2.3 ATRIX update to launch around the middle of next month.

SE Xperia Play for £149.99 in UK
At first I thought that this was almost the best deal ever but, as it appears, things are not as good as I thought they were. So, according to the latest announcement from O2 UK, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smart-phone is offered now for £149.99 only. This is one of the best deals available for the Play smart-phone as far as this is a third of a price only. For £149.99 you will get a device optimized for gaming and equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and a 4-inch touch-screen display with a sliding out gamepad. Unfortunately, this deal is valid only if you sign up for a contract on O2. I am not trying to say that O2 is bad or something but this tiny little condition makes this deal not that sweet, so to speak. But I hope that times will change and rather sooner than later we will be offered a brand new Sony Ericsson Xperia Play for £149.99 only but without any obligations.
BEST DEALS: Xperia PLAY, black or white, £149 on O2 PAYG
Just when you think the Xperia PLAY simply can’t get any cheaper, some other company goes and hacks hacks a great lump off the price. Today’s cheapest way to buy Sony Ericsson’s gaming phone is through O2, which is selling it on a PAYG basis for £149.99. That is almost comical.
This is particularly good news, as O2 has that exclusive white version of the PLAY available for the same super-discount price.
That’s no mere sale, that’s a NEVER TO BE REPEATED PRICE CRASH SUPER SPECTACULAR. Check it out over at O2.

Other significant upgrades include an 8megapixel camera with LED flash, along with enough GRUNT to capture and play 1080p video. The phone will launch with Android 2.3 onboard. Here it is, looking surprisingly uncluttered by Motorola software skins:
There’s also 1GB of RAM inside, plus 8GB of ROM. It’ll also use the same Lapdock enhancements as the original ATRIX, if anyone ever actually used any of that. It’s a distant “maybe” for us.

Archos 101 G9 tablet now available – for £299
Archos is now selling the larger 10.1″ version of its very exciting-looking G9 Android tablet range in the UK, with the Android 3.2 device now available direct from Archos for £299.
As we saw with the 8″ model, this is a slightly scaled-down version of the originally announced hardware – offering only a 1GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor. But you do get 8GB of internal storage, and Android 3.2, all behind a 4:3 aspect ratio screen that looks like this:
Very smart indeed. Not entirely sure this is as an attractive a proposition as the £199 8″ model, but at least Archos has always been rather good at issuing OS updates – so it ought to stay relevant and be a good tinkerer’s machine.
