Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light heads to Xperia Play first

Sony Ericsson and Square Enix have announced a deal that will see one of the new video games from the game publisher coming to the Android-powered Xperia Play first. The game is called Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The game will be available for the Play in November. There is no indication of how long the game will be an exclusive for the Play.

Square Enix and Sony Ericsson will also be bringing more games to the Xperia Play in the future. This move may bring more gamers that like to be the first to get games on the Android platform to the Xperia Play. I don’t think that a mobile game will be anticipated enough to actually drive many Xperia Play purchases though.

Sony Ericsson has been offering the Play in the US for a while and is now $49 on AT&T. The company announced this month that the Play would hit Japan on NTT DOCOMO in October. I wonder if the graphics in this game will be anywhere near the detail of the render above.

“With a unique control pad and immersive graphics that enable an enriched gaming experience, Xperia™ PLAY is bringing a unique and exciting dimension to smartphone gaming,” said Ben Cusack, Head of Mobile for Square Enix Europe. “This is just the start of what we plan to do together, but right now, we are delighted to be able to show off the full potential of our games with this innovative smartphone, bringing them to life as our creators intended.”

“Xperia™ PLAY continues to redefine smartphone gaming. By bringing some of the world’s most popular console games to the Xperia™ PLAY we’re delivering an unrivalled smartphone gaming experience,” said Tim Harrison, Head of Content & Marketing Strategy for Sony Ericsson. “And this is still really only just the beginning – we will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with new games and new experiences optimized for Xperia PLAY, ensuring that consumers have the best gaming possible experience on a smartphone, whatever games they are in to.”

Pinball HD For Tegras

It is needless to say that Tegra optimized games look great and allow you to enjoy only the best gaming experience. Also, for those who happen to have Tegra based devices there is an app for getting all the new games and it is called TegraZone and one of the latest products offered for download is Pinball HD. My dear friends, it is really impossible to say how great this game is. I know that Pinball is considered to be a table game and you really enjoy playing it when there is a possibility to shake that Pinball table when in pub. But Pinball HD is a great example of how great can regular games be even if ported on digital devices. There are lots of different tables and one of them is “Big Kong”. I’ve never thought that virtual Pinball games can be so graphically rich and addictive but, it appears, they can! And only for $2.99 this beauty is available for your interest. Just give it a try and you’ll get what I am talking about!

Words with Friends Game Receives Update

Long-long time ago that none can even remember, one of the best free games was released on the Android Market and its name was Words with Friends. It is very easy to play if you have a vocabulary nearby. If I am not mistaken, this game is multiplatform and you have a possibility to challenge against your friends with iPhones and iPads. Anyway, here is what I was going to tell you: Words with Friends was available on the Market not for smart-phones only but there was a very special one Honeycomb version. But it was removed from the Market and we though that it was the end of a tablet word gaming. Luckily, some time after it was back and now this game brings one of the best gaming experiences that you can get on your Honeycomb tablet. The only thing that I have to warn you is that the game itself is extremely addictive and you should be careful not to lose your mind.
