Keep up with SAMCRO with the Sons of Anarchy app

Sons of Anarchy Android app Season 5 of the critically acclaimed show Sons of Anarchy starts tonight, and many of us at Mobile Nations are super excited about it. If you're a fan of the show too, you'll definitely want to check out the Sons of Anarchy app from Fox Digital Entertainment. Though the app has been out for awhile now, it's just been updated and has a bunch of new material to explore as well as a whole new interface.

As season 5 progresses, you can access new content including production stills, alternate scenes, storyboards, trivia and more. Explore character bios and rap-sheets, and even shop for merchandise right from the app. One of the cool things about the shop, you can buy items you see your favorite characters wearing on the show! Some of the current content in the app includes Jax's rap sheet, Bobby's recipe for banana bread, an inside look at what it takes to be an SOA prospect, and a peek inside Happy's locker. With more to be added throughout the season, I am excited to keep up with the extras to tide me over each week while waiting for the next episode.

  • New content is introduced as the season progresses
  • Use 'Perspective' to navigate the SOA clubhouse using your devices gyroscope or using swipe mode
  • Access to alternate scenes and 'appisodes’
  • Explore character bio's and get rap-sheets of your favorite characters
  • Production Stills
  • Storyboards
  • Exclusive trivia from the upcoming board game
  • Factoids from the show

The Sons of Anarchy app is free to download and requires Android 2.3.3 and up.

Here’s a video of an elephant playing with a Samsung Galaxy Note

Elephant using a Galaxy Note

Samsung's spent a lot of time and money marketing the Galaxy Note, its 5.3-inch phone-tablet hybrid device. It brought in director Bobby Farrelly to create last month's star-studded Super Bowl commercial, and poked fun iPhone users in a string of TV ads. And for its latest trick, it's sent the Note to Thailand to meet Peter the Elephant.

"Bigger is better" is Samsung's message here, and the video shows Peter using his trunk (and the stylus) to operate the Note's spacious 5.3-inch touchscreen. The ad agency behind the clip says the footage is all real, with no "trickery, post-production or hidden cuts", adding "he's just a very clever elephant."

If you've ever wanted to see a massive tusked beast making music, drawings and taking photos on a larger-than-average smartphone, then we've got a treat for you waiting after the break.

Samsung Galaxy Note Super Bowl commercial to be 90-seconds and was directed by Bobby Farrelly

Yesterday Samsung announced on Twitter they would run a commercial on the upcoming AT&T Galaxy Note during the 4th quarter of this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI, and that it would be “one of the longest in the game.”

Samsung PR just told us it will actually be a 90-second spot and it was directed by Bobby Farrelly, who along with his brother Peter, created some of the funniest movies of all time: There’s Something About MaryDumb and DumberKingpin and Fever Pitch.

“During the past six months we’ve launched the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus and now the Galaxy Note super phone in North America bringing unparalleled innovation to the marketplace,” said Todd Pendleton, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Telecommunications America.  “The Galaxy Note ushers in the era of truly personalized communications, allowing people to capture, share and create like never before.”

This is one commercial I’m looking forward to.

Samsung Announces Super Bowl Ad Details

This image has no alt text

Samsung has just issued a press release detailing what they’d be doing for their first ever Super Bowl ad. Their advertisement – which will be a 90 second spot – will air sometime throughout the fourth quarter, an expensive gesture for any company to make. Bobby Farrelly, creator of There’s Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber, will direct the commercial. Their press release focuses a lot on the note so we imagine their ad will be focused on that, as well. The Super Bowl airs February 5th, the same day that the Galaxy Note goes up for presale on its first US carrier – AT&T. Read on for full press details.
