Starting this month, all T-Mobile stores expected to carry the LG Nexus 4

If you’re still dying to grab the Nexus 4 but were unable to due to the influx of orders that crammed Google Play, then you may be in luck as T-Mobile is planning on carrying the device on every store starting this month. Thanks to an image obtained by TMONEWS, we should expect every T-Mobile store to carry the device, presumably for the same $200 on contract price tag.

Will this finally be your chance to nab the elusive device?

BEST DEALS: Xperia T, 1GB of data, unlimited calls and texts for £26 a month

We have no idea why the phone sellers of the world have decided to make 26 the magic number. Probably something psychological about it appearing to be well below 30 but also high enough above 20 that they all make lots of money. Anyway.

UK network O2 is featuring the awesome Sony Xperia T as part of its January Sale promo, offering the phone on a 24-month contract with unlimited calls and texts and a very handy 1GB of mobile data, all for the omnipresent monthly price of… £26.

xperia-t

The Xperia T is a stonking great phone for that money, although Sony’s expected to be announcing something a little bigger and a little more powerful in the next week or so, with the Xperia Z or “Yuga” set to be its biggest and most powerful phone yet.

But this one’s still great.

Best Buy offering Samsung Galaxy S3 for $49 for one day only on Sunday Dec. 16

Android Central

If you fancy a little pre-holiday treat for yourself, Best Buy might have something for you. For one day only tomorrow, Sunday Dec. 16, the retailer is dropping the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to just $49 on a new 2-year contract. It's not the first time in recent months that the Android Central International and U.S. Best of the Best pick has been reduced. The difference this time round is that the Galaxy S3 will be available for that same price on the four big carriers. If you've been holding off, there might be little better opportunities to pick one up on the carrier of your choosing.

HTC One VX Announced on AT&T

htc-one-vx

AT&T has just taken the wraps off the mid-ranged HTC One VX smartphone yesterday, which is more or less a downgraded version of the One S (not in all aspects). The device was initially slated to arrive last month, but that didn’t happen and it has been finally announced now. The One Series of smartphones in the U.S has a pretty decent following, and the addition of this new droid should certainly be welcome. Although, considering the current market scenario, one would imagine if HTC is a tad too late in launching this device in the market. The device is up for grabs for $49.99 on a two year contract and $299.99 with a 1 year contract on AT&T. The off contract pricing is $399.99.

As far as the hardware of the device is concerned, it’s pretty much on par with most mid-ranged smartphones we see. But as with any HTC device, it stands a notch above the current lot of mid-ranged droids. The usual array of HTC’s design elements combined by the software customization (Android 4.0 with Sense UI 4+) are on board the device, so expect to be at home if you’re familiar with the HTC One Series of smartphones. Surprisingly the device doesn’t seem to have a unibody design as most of HTC’s new smartphones do. The exclusion of this particular feature could be to cut costs as this is a mid-ranged smartphone.

The smartphone packs a 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 panel with a qHD resolution. Also on board is a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a 5MP rear camera with the HTC ImageSense chip and a VGA front facing camera. The One VX also has 1GB of RAM which is on par with most smartphones out there, so running plenty of apps in the background should be a breeze with this one. The device has 8GB of internal storage, but that’s nothing to worry about as the microSD card ensures users can add cards of up to 32GB. The device comes with Beats Audio branding as well. HTC has plans for a Jelly Bean update apparently, which should go live anytime next year. What goes against the device is the limited internal storage (although it can be expanded) and the OS version of Android it’s running. The display or the pixel density is a non issue as this is a mid-ranged device. It is yet to be seen if the $49.99 price tag will attract any buyers at all, especially considering the kind of devices on offer today for the same price range or even less. Regardless, this phone is long overdue and AT&T will be happy to get the launch of the device. Whether it will sell well or not is a whole different story.

No, T-Mobile, your Nexus 4 doesn’t have a microSD card either

T-Mobile BAD

Oh, T-Mobile. What ever are we going to do with you? So you're selling the Nexus 4 on contract. That's crazy enough. And then you got folks thinking it would have your snazzy Wifi calling. Which of course it was never going to have. And now your damn product page for the Nexus 4 is showing it as having 16 gigabytes of internal storage, plus it's expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card.

Only, it doesn't have a microSD card, T-Mobile. It never had one. And it never will. Perhaps you've heard the legions of Android fans bitching about that for a couple weeks now. No? Well, we can't help you there.

But somebody owes @aemaffei an apology.

AT&T to invest $8 billion into wireless network, promises more 4G LTE’s for all

This image has no alt text

The war for your wallet is about to get a little more intense. AT&T announced tonight that they’re pulling out the big guns, investing a total of $8 billion in their wireless network (and an additional $6 billion for wireline network). Holy cow, that’s a whole lot of billions. AT&T plans on blanketing 300 million US Americans with 4G LTE by the end of 2014 with help from more than 40 spectrum deals — some still pending regulatory approval — with plans to buy even more.

Couple all of that with the fact that AT&T’s network is international friendly (meaning overseas devices work fine on their HSPA+ network) and AT&T’s a force to be reckoned with, an empire even. While I’m not sure that’s enough to lock me into a contract for 2 years, it is definitely very, very tempting. Strong, the dark side is.

Rogers launching new unlimited talk plans, starting November 7

I personally am not a big talker. Like many average Android users, I utilize text-messaging and data more than anything! But if you reside in Canada and need more “bang for your buck” when it comes to talk communication contracts, Rogers has you covered.

Starting on November 7, cell customers will have the oppurtunity to choose from a variety of individual value plans. The lowest for unlimited talk, will set you back around $60 a month, going all the way up to $95 for a sweet 5GB data deal. Those who are familiar with Rogers terms and conditions will know that it costs $15 per 1GB of over usage.

The holiday season is a great time to buy into a new contract, especially with some of the new, kick-ass Android devices out and on the way to Canadian soil.

Black Samsung Galaxy S3 now available from Vodafone UK

Android Central

Amid the sea of LG Nexus 4 content floating around right now, it would be easy to forget about some of the other hot Android devices out there. Word reaches us today that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is now available on Vodafone UK in black. It's a Samsung Galaxy S3, but it's black. It's that simple — but in black, it does look fantastic. It can be had completely free of charge on a new 2 year contract, for £41 per month for the 16GB version. A little pricey, but it's still one heck of a phone.

How to try out a Nexus 4 (and GSM) with no commitment

Prepaid SIM Cards

The Nexus 4 has a whole lot of features to be excited about — that is, unless you're on Verizon or Sprint here in the states. For reasons you can probably figure out on your own, Google has decided to only launch an unlocked GSM model of the Nexus 4, and offer it around the world. This means no LTE — fear not, it has DC-HSPA+ 42mbps — but it also keeps the price insanely low. At $299 (8GB) and $349 (16GB) without a contract, it's an extremely tempting proposition.

But as we noted earlier, what if you're on a CDMA carrier? Well there are actually some compelling options if you'd like to "test drive" a Nexus 4 — and GSM — before you commit to making it your primary device.
