The LG Lucid 4G, which had been code named the LG Cayman, is showing its face in these new pics. The leaked pics don’t show too much to comment on, so we’re expecting a mid-range Android phone for Verizon.
We’ve previously reported on a leaked document that named March 29 as the release date, most likely for under $200.
Here are the leaked specs:
- dual-core 1.2GHz processor
- 4G LTE
- 8 GB of internal storage
- 5 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video
- 1 GB of RAM
- Android 2.3
- 4-inch, WVGA NOVA display, capable of 700 nits of brightness
What are you thoughts on the LG Lucid?

Do you have your Black Friday plans all worked out yet? Me neither. There are just too many stores and too many deals to wade through. A lot of a persons plans depend on money available. While others use the biggest shopping holiday of the year to max out those credit cards. If you are looking for that special deal on a new device from your favorite carrier, or the one you are stuck on, here is one coming in from Verizon.
Look like you will be able to pick up a whole slew of devices for some pretty great prices.
- Red DROID Incredible 2 for FREE
- LG Revolution for $49.99
If there is something else on your list though, they have a few other deals that will be running all weekend. Including the Double Smartphone data deal (4GB for $30)
- Xoom for $199 on contract
- Xperia Play for FREE
- LG Enlighten for FREE
The only thing that always seems to get under my skin, is the deals that the carriers often have aren’t really all that amazing. Where as companies like Amazon will be offering a much larger selection of devices for mere pennies. Literally.
The biggest Black Friday deal looks to be the original Motorola Xoom tablet for $199 on a new two year data plan agreement. Tread cautiously here though, yes it’s a great value on the 10.1″ original Xoom, now with 4G LTE but the new XYboard may end up here before the end of the year.
The next big deal is the HTC Droid Incredible 2 in a festive red color. This device will be free with a new two year agreement on Friday only.
The Sony Xperia Play and the LG Enlighten are to be free all weekend and the LG Revolution will be just $49.99 on Friday only. All weekend long Verizon Wireless is doing free activations and their double data promotion continues through the holiday shopping season.
Are you going to Verizon Wireless Black Friday?

The full specs are far from impressive, but it could be perfect for the tweener of the family, someone new to smartphones, or anyone who wants some Android goodness on a budget:

The LG Enlighten was mentioned a few weeks ago but since than – nothing was mentioned about this middle-range Android based smart-phone. But, after some digging we were able to find this picture in Sprint’s catalogue that gives us a little bit closer glance at the device mentioned as well as assures us in its “coming soon” status. So, the LG Enlighten will be equipped with an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-inch touch-screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a board and full sliding out QWERTY keyboard. The rumored release date was set on August 25 but, as you can see on you calendar, the date mentioned is really far behind and Verizon’s coming soon is also something that can’t be trusted and relied on. But, without any doubt, we are expecting this middle-range fellow to become a part of our Android family and the sooner – the better. Stay tuned for updates coming up soon.
The August 25th release date for the LG Enlighten has come and gone without it hitting the shelves at Verizon. A Verizon catalog shot has been captured over at Android Central showing the Enlighten is still being promoted as coming soon. Better than nothing right? If you’re looking for a entry-level slider, here’s a quick recap of the specs: Gingerbread, an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-inch (480 x 320) screen, a 3.2MP camera, 150MB internal memory, and a 2GB microSD card. Not much to get excited about unless it shows up for free on contract sign up. Thoughts on this one?
The LG Enlighten was rumored to launch on August 25th, but a few weeks later the handset remains absent from Verizon’s shelves. We wouldn’t have noticed either way. Though the mid-range slider seems forgettable, it is still set of a launch with Big Red. In an upcoming catalog, the carrier displays the handset along with a promise that it is “coming soon.” As a refresher, the Enlighten features a 3.2-inch display, Android 2.3, and 800MHz CPU.

The LG Enlighten is a mid-level Android smartphone that’s been mentioned for weeks now, but without any official info. Looks like the unofficial promotions are continuing, however, as it’s made an appearance in the upcoming Verizon catalog. To recap the specs, you’re looking at a 3.2-inch slider, with four-row keyboard, Android 2.3 and an 800MHz processor. The rumored Aug. 25 launch date obviously has come and gone, but the catalog still has it as "coming soon," so that’s better than nothing.
Verizon’s LG Enlighten is an interesting phone, combining all that was successful with the LG Optimus One with a hardware keyboard. We’re sure it would have gotten a ton of looks at retail, but now that Walmart is said to be selling it for $.97 as evidenced by its appearance in this upcoming week’s product catalog, we’d say many-a new smartphone owner will get their hands on this one before considering anything else. It has a 3.2 inch display, a 3 megapixel camera and an 800MHz processor, and if LG makes this thing feel anything like the Optimus One, we can’t imagine that chipset would fail to handle Android + LG’s UI nicely. Be on the lookout for it starting Sunday, I suppose. [PhoneArena]
The LG Enlighten (VS700) is finally ready to make its Verizon debut this Thursday August 25th, and it will eventually make the rounds to Sprint, US Cellular, and CellularSouth.
It comes with Gingerbread, an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-inch (480 x 320) screen, a 3.2MP camera, 150MB internal memory, and a 2GB microSD card. Okay, this phone is nothing to brag about, but for $100 it will appeal to a certain segment. Something tells me this will be offered for FREE before the holiday season, which will make it even more appealing.
One more picture after the break.
We have been seeing a lot of mid-range devices out of LG lately and what we have here is no different. This is the LG Enlighten QWERTY slider headed for the big red, Verizon Wireless. You might also remember the name the LG Gelato Q as that is what this was first rumored to be. More details on that are available in this LG leaked roadmap. If what we have heard is accurate this device might even be rocking NFC but the details are still not all available.
While you wont win any design contests or performance benchmarks this is a neat mid-range offering that should be hitting the shelves later in the month or early September and at a great price too. We have a 3.2″ HVGA 480×320 resolution display, an 800 Mhz single-core CPU, a 3.2 MP camera on the rear that sadly is missing a LED flash and you should also get 2GB of internal storage on board here with the included micro SD card.
We haven’t heard much regarding this phone but rumors are already stating it will hit Verizon’s shelves come August 25th with an attractive $100 price tag. So while it may be as mid-range as they come (or low-range) you can’t beat the price and it would be a great phone for a first time smartphone buyer, not to mention just in time for back to school shoppers. They might even offer it free with a new 2-year contract but we’ll have to wait and see. Either way it wont cost much and should be hitting stores soon.
What you see here is Verizon’s LG Enlighten a mid-range handset that best fills the hole left by last year’s LG Vortex Otherwise known as the LG Gelato Q, the Enlighten features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 800MHz processor, and 3.2-inch display. Rumors place the phone on Verizon’s shelves come August 25th with an attractive $100 (give or take) price point.
LG’s new QWERTY Android slider, once dubbed the “LG Gelato” is set to come to a handful of American carriers as the LG Enlighten. According to pocketnow, the LG Enlighten will come to Sprint, US Cellular, Cellular South and Verizon.
The LG Enlighten features a 3.2 HVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, and an 800mhz processor. 150mb of internal memory with a 2gb microsSD card in the box, of course the microSD slot can handle up to 32gb. It also features a full QWERTY keyboard.
Even though this is by no stretch a superphone, LG did very well with an entry to mid-range Android device last year when they released the original Optimus 1 to multiple carriers. Pocketnow is also reporting that there is a keyboard-less version of the LG Enlighten known as the Net P960 that would be more of an LG Optimus-1 Part deux.
The LG Enlighten is expected to start around $100 on a new two year agreement with most of the carriers. It’s also expected to be released as early as this Thursday.
If you were going to treat yourself with a brand new Android based smart-phone from Verizon than you should be aware that it won’t be easy to make this decision as far as Verizon is going to add another smart-phone in its line. So, the next one to get a Verizon branding will be a middle range smart-phone called the LG Enlighten. It will be equipped with a full 4-row horizontally sliding out QWERTY keyboard, an 800MHz processor, a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen display, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity and Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a board. What concerns the release date, the LG Enlighten should be expected starting the 25th of August but release dates are a matter of change so be ready to add a couple of expectation days. By the way, thanks to droidlife.com we are able to share with you the image above so, folks, thanks a lot for your inspiring leak.
Well hello LG Enlighten. You’ve flown under the radar for quite a long time haven’t you? We barely know of your existence, and now we know why. You don’t have much packing in the spec department do you, you sly dog you? If nothing else, we now know that there isn’t a 1 GHz minimum on phones shipping with Gingerbread. The phone is supposedly being released on August 25th. Whether that is true or not, one thing is for sure: We won’t be holding our breath for it. Full spec sheet below.
The word on the street has been that LG has a new device called the Gelato heading our way. The Gelato is coming to Verizon Wireless as the LG Enlighten. This midrange Android phone features an 800mhz processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a slide out qwerty keyboard.
LG picked up some messaging phone converts last year with the LG Ally that also featured a slide out qwerty keyboard. It wasn’t the superphones we Android enthusiasts are used to but nonetheless it reached a good number of customers on their first Android smartphone.
It looks like this device will come out on August 25th.

What’s in a name? If you ask any phone operator in the US, it’s everything — most carriers prefer to put their own unique spin on a handset to distinguish it from the rest of the crowd. It’s reasonable, then, to expect Verizon to do that very same thing with its version of the LG Gelato Q, the forthcoming Android QWERTY slider that’ll likely hit Big Red sometime this fall. PocketNow uncovered a wholesaler’s product sheet that displayed cases for an “LG Enlighten VS700.” We can’t be certain as to its authenticity yet, but the model number’s association with the device is plausible, as we’ve seen evidence of Sprint’s variant using LS700 as its identification. After hearing this tidbit of information, there’s one thing for sure: we don’t feel any closer to true enlightenment than we did before.
Update: Well, look at that — just after posting, we discovered that we may be more “enlightened” than we’d expected. Droid-Life dug up some images and a full spec sheet (in More Coverage) as a one-up. The Enlighten will have: Android 2.3, an 800MHz CPU, a 3.2-inch HVGA display, a 3.2 megapixel shooter, 150MB of internal storage (with expandable memory using microSD), and a 1500mAh battery. So it appears that a much needed QWERTY slider will be added to Verizon’s midrange Android lineup. Check after the break for a full image.
Verizon to rebrand the LG Gelato Q as the Enlighten? (Update: images and full specs) originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 04 Aug 2011 18:15:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
If you are on Verizon and have had a hard time deciding which device to get, it seems like things are not getting any easier as yet another device has leaked out along with some specs. The LG Enlighten, a mid ranged QWERTY slider has appeared, and apparently it is set to release on August 25. The device will be running Android 2.3, Gingerbread, and will be powered by a 800MHz processor, not the fastest we have seen, and all of this will be displayed on a 3.2" HVGA display. While it may not compete spec for spec with some of the other upcoming Verizon device, is the LG Enlighten something that you could consider owning? Full spec sheet after the break.

Earlier today we learned the the LG Gelato Q would launch on Verizon as the LG Enlighten and thanks to some new information picked up by DroidLife we are being enlightened (I know, I know) on what to expect when the phone launches on Verizon, supposedly around August 25th. The handset will fill the void left by the LG Ally a similar handset in terms of specs. The Enlighten features a slide-out keyboard, 800MHz processor, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Similarly to the Ally, we don’t expect this one to steal the hearts of the public upon release.
Remember that LG Enlighten post from a couple of hours ago? Looks like one of our readers knows everything there is to know about it, including having an entire internal PDF spec sheet on the device. You can look at this phone, one of two ways basically: it’s a 800MHz Gingerbread rocking lag beast, or a device which [...]

Verizon will be releasing the LG “Optimus slider” (codenamed the Gelato Q) soon, and it looks like it will be called the LG Enlighten. We know this because the sell sheet pictured above that was posted by accessories wholesaler Xentris Wireless.
Pictured below is the Sprint version which will be the LS700. The Verizon version will be VS700.
Phew, we’re glad that’s cleared up. No, Verizon’s forthcoming QWERTY slider form LG won’t be named after an ice cream treat – we’d prefer it if Google had exclusive rights to that for the use of naming Android versions. Instead, they’ll be bringing the LG Gelato Q to the United States as the LG Enlighten according to accessory listings leaked by Xentris Wireless. Sprint’s set to offer the same handset, as well, but we still don’t have much information regarding these two. Let’s hope those details trickle out soon enough. [PocketNow]
Verizon is potentially bringing the LG Gelato Q to the United States as the LG Enlighten. Release is rumored for sometime in September, and wouldn’t it be awesome if it looked like this? We would have to buy one just for novelty purposes. It could just be a filler phone, or may not even be [...]
