Next wave of Nexus 4 stock due in UK Play Store today

Android Central

Just as it's previously done in the U.S. and Canada, today Google's sending out emails to prospective Nexus 4 customers in the UK, advising them that new stock will be available on the British Google Play devices store shortly.

The next batch of Nexus 4s will be available to buyers in the UK from 5pm GMT today — less than two hours away at the time of writing.

But if earlier Google Play Nexus 4 launches are anything to go by, stock is sure to be snapped up quickly. The first round of UK stock sold out in under an hour on launch day, and the Google Play devices store has been slow and crash-prone whenever and wherever there've been Nexus 4s available.

Good luck to Brits attempting to get their hands on a Nexus 4. We'll be watching closely to see how long that second batch of Nexuses ends up lasting.

Nexus 4 returns to Google Play store in Canada at 3PM Eastern today

It certainly hasn’t been the easiest phone to get a hold for for those interested, but those in Canada now at least know when they’ll have another chance to grab a Nexus 4. Google’s today sent out emails informing prospective customers that the phone will again be available in the Canadian Play store starting at 3PM Eastern (noon Pacific time), although it’s of course making no guarantees about quantities. It also hasn’t specified if both the 8GB and 16GB models will be available, but there’s now less than an hour ’til we find out.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Yes, I know. This is Android Central and you're certainly not expecting to hear about RIM on here but hear me out for a second. As some of you may or may not know, RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 does support Android apps to a certain extent and with that RIM also supports Android developers.

Android developers can earn money on BlackBerry App World by porting their apps to the BlackBerry PlayBook and RIM's upcoming OS, BlackBerry 10. To help show that, RIM is hosting a 36 hour game porting session and offering up some cold hard cash and prizes to go along with it. Here's the deal, if you're an Android developer and interested in porting some games.

Motorola On Display Video is Now Available to Watch Online

The Motorola what now? Oh yeah. Motorola still has some tricks up it sleeves. If you guys missed the On Display show earlier today where Motorola showed off their new Razr phones, it is now available to watch in its entirety. Nothing exciting to me. I look it as if you already bought a Motorola Razr, you are quite pissed off right now. Not only has the Razr Maxx come out, but now the Maxx HD. Seems a little ridiculous to me. The Razr M looks pretty nice though. I will give them that.

So watch the video below, but let me inform you that the actual show does not start until about 20 minutes in. Yeah, for some reason Motorola was trying to fit an hour in, so they had the band play for 20 whole minutes. Let us know what you think.

Pocket Legends Double XP available until September 1st

Those who need a little extra boost in Pocket Legends will be glad to hear that Spacetime has announced double XP through September 1st. From now until then, everything that you earn XP for will be doubled.

In case you need it in time form, say it normally takes one hour to get to the next level. With double XP, it’d be more like half an hour. Gamers should already know how this works, though, so I won’t do much explaining.

The Google Play Store app doesn’t need updating for this change, but if you’re a new player and you’ve been looking to download this game, now is as good a time as any to get up to speed with the rest of the grinders already playing. Find it here. [Spacetime]

As you can see in the pictures, the Verizon back tattoo is in full view. As for the rest of the pictures, I do not see much difference from what we have been seeing for the nature inspired phone. At least to me it does not seem to different. What do you guys think? Looking pretty good?

Reminder: Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery is Still Half Off From Verizon, Other LTE Devices Too

We noticed this afternoon that Verizon is still running the Galaxy Nexus extended battery half off deal. Google I/O registration opening soon, hefty price tag attached this Year

Google I/O is one of the hottest events put on every year in San Francisco CA. It is all about developers, new and upcoming wonders from Google, manufacturers and developers alike. There has been a lot of great things seen and unveiled at Google I/O in the past. Not to mention thousands of dollars worth of free phones and tablets handed out like coffee at an AA meeting. Last year ticket prices sat at a somewhat affordable $450 per-person. While some thought this was pretty pricey, it was affordable enough for a big event that they sold out in less than an hour. This year should be equally, if not better, than last years. The only downside, ticket prices are looking to double. Registration fees will be $900 per person, while students can snag one up for $300, which is triple last years price.

Will the newly revamped price tags make you think twice about attending this year, or are you already looking to take out a second mortgage?

If anyone is looking to sponsor a site or someone to do the trip and cover the event, by all means hit us up. :O)

Thanks Tom for letting us know.

Daylight Saving Time and Android: Sit back and relax

Daylight Saving Time

Just a quick heads up that Daylight Saving Time struck must of us in the U.S. last night, meaning it's now an hour later than it should be. (An extra cup of coffee might be in order.) The good news for you, fair Android owner, is that your phone should have taken care of everything for you, provided that you're using date and time as provided by your network.

Should something look wonky, go to getting>Date/time to check things out. But otherwise, your phone should have adjusted without a hitch.

SXSW12 Coverage Delayed

image

We meant to bring you continuous coverage from south by southwest 2012. However, we were majorly delayed by a gigantic line for badge pickup.

We’ve already given away 10 power bags from mypowerbag.com. No worries as they are plenty more where they came from. All you have to do is tweet @thedroidguy and @mypowerbag with the hashtag #sxswPowerUp and you could win.

We also saw the ISIS booth which is the technology competing against Google Wallet.

We have a good hour left in this line, we have more coverage coming shortly.
