Google+ Updated – Nothing Major, Just Some Bug Fixes

Google pushed another update to the Google+ application for Android, but don’t expect anything too new. For now, it’s just some bug fixings and several stability improvements. Since the last major update, I have found myself opening this app a bit more. The layout is quite nice, but those cartoonish bottom buttons have got to go. [...]

Full Google+ Integration With Google Play On the Way

If you’ve ever browsed Google Play, you have seen how the curtain of anonymity is used when posting reviews. Until now, users have been able to post feedback to apps with nothing linking back to them except for a nickname or first name. All that is set to change with Google’s upcoming integration of Google+ [...]

DROID DNA Owners, How’s Your Battery Holding Up?

There have been many who question HTC’s placement of a 2,020 mAh battery inside of the new DROID DNA. Reviews from all over the web have shown nothing but mixed feelings toward it – some giving it terrible marks, while others gave it rather good ratings, including ours. What reviews sometimes lack is real world experience, [...]

Google Nexus Wireless Charger Pictured in All its Glory

Google was planning on showing off many of their new products at their event today, but sadly, Mother Nature had other plans. With that though, a picture showing off the new Nexus wireless charger hit the web this weekend. Isn’t it pretty? Nothing crazy with the design, just a pretty little half-ball of a device that will be able to charge your Nexus 4 without having to plug it in. I guess I should not say “Nexus 4“, because odds are, this charger will be able to charge all the new Nexus devices that would have been shown off at the event. Luckily they put the word NEXUS on its face, to make sure that people know which devices this will be for.

Wireless charging is definitely a thing of the future, and I am sure we will be seeing more of these devices in the upcoming year. Let us know what you guys think.

RAZR HD Update 0.7.2 Now Includes Isis Wallet Support Too

About an hour ago, Verizon updated the support doc for the DROID RAZR HD 0.7.2 update to include a mention of Isis Mobile Wallet. As was expected, the RAZR HD and MAXX HD were to be “Isis ready” shortly after launch, and this update makes that happen. Nothing else changes in the update, as it [...]

LG Nexus Takes on the iPhone 5 in Latest Picture Leak

Motorola On Display Video is Now Available to Watch Online

The Motorola what now? Oh yeah. Motorola still has some tricks up it sleeves. If you guys missed the On Display show earlier today where Motorola showed off their new Razr phones, it is now available to watch in its entirety. Nothing exciting to me. I look it as if you already bought a Motorola Razr, you are quite pissed off right now. Not only has the Razr Maxx come out, but now the Maxx HD. Seems a little ridiculous to me. The Razr M looks pretty nice though. I will give them that.

So watch the video below, but let me inform you that the actual show does not start until about 20 minutes in. Yeah, for some reason Motorola was trying to fit an hour in, so they had the band play for 20 whole minutes. Let us know what you think.

DROID RAZR M and RAZR HD Press Photos Leak

Here are the official press shots for the DROID RAZR M (left) and DROID RAZR HD (right). “But, but, where is the edge-to-edge device?” We told you over the weekend that everyone was blowing this “edge-to-edge” rumor out of proportion and that this supposed tipster was referring to nothing more than the RAZR M, something [...]

AT&T-branded Xperia T shows up on UK retailer site

It looks like AT&T might be thinking about carrying the Sony Xperia T soon. UK retailer Phones4U accidentally posted a press shot of the Sony Xperia T with AT&T branding on its listing.

While this isn’t hard confirmation that AT&T is set to bring the device out it’s a rather clean render and there’s no reason to believe it was doctored by either Phones4U or Sony.

Also note the two separators on the AT&T render — that design is not present in the international version which could be further proof that this is a shot of a possible AT&T version.

We’re not sure when AT&T might be bringing the device out if they are, in fact, doing so, but considering it was just unveiled last week in Berlin we’d say it’s not exactly right around the corner.

Nothing we say is worth more than any official word, though, so we’ll be waiting to hear more from AT&T in the coming weeks or months. [via AndroidCentral]

New images show off possible HTC tablet

HTC tablet

HTC has been rather quiet on the tablet front but some new images leaked on Twitter by @evleaks have given us something interesting to look at. At this point, there is pretty much nothing to go on in terms of information about the device, not even the exact OS it may be running but the images sure are pretty to look at if nothing else.

In my opinion, it looks styled after the HTC One series though, I'd be lying if I didn't also say it looks like a decapitated iMac. That's it, enjoy the images for now and by all means, feel free to speculate in the comments. You'll find some more shots below for your drooling pleasure and here's to hoping we see more when IFA 2012 kicks off fully.

Latest Nexus 7 Video Highlights New Jelly Bean Features – Notifications, Blink To Unlock and Google Now

This image has no alt text

Alright, now it’s getting good. After a few days of Google uploading Nexus 7 tutorials on their YouTube channel detailing even the most mundane tasks, we’re now getting to Jelly Bean features. More like a commercial than an actual tutorial, the creepy dead-hand is back and in their latest video, Google highlights a few features found on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean that separate it from some of Google’s previous desserts. There was 3 main features shown off this time around: face unlock with blink security, Google now, Google Play widgets and enhanced notifications. Nothing new for us veterans, but once again, you can forward this video to some of your less tech savvy friends and family to help them in their Jelly Bean journey.

HTC One X Possibly Dropping to $99 on AT&T with Contract

An AT&T staff leak on XDA says that the carrier will be cutting the contract price of the HTC One X to $99 on July 29th. That’s half the price of it’s original listing. This might be due to the Galaxy S III‘s extraordinary sales, so HTC may just be trying to get it’s One X back into the spotlight. Nothing has officially been confirmed unless AT&T does pull the trigger on the price drop on July 29th.

Is anyone actually interested in the One X with the Galaxy S III already out and the Galaxy Note 2 possibly on it’s way? Let us know in the comments below!

Google updates YouTube and Nexus Q apps

Google has issued a set of updates for multiple applications today, and a few were worth mentioning. First up was Google Movies & TV, but that wasn’t anything special. The important ones are YouTube and the Nexus Q companion app. YouTube was updated to version 4.0 for ICS+ devices, same goes for many older devices too. Along with both updates YouTube now fully supports the Nexus Q.

Both the YouTube and Nexus Q apps have added support for older versions of Android. Previously the Nexus Q wasn’t supported on older Android versions, but today it is now compatible with all Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and above devices. The Nexus Q started shipping yesterday, so these updates are right in time.

Another feature for YouTube is turning our phones into remotes, and using them to control and play YouTube videos on other devices. Okay Okay, I’ll mention Google Movies. Apparently downloads will now be faster after the latest update, and Google solved a few bugs too. Nothing all that new or spectacular here, but head to the links below to get updated.

Existing Dropbox Pro plans doubled, new 500GB option introduced

Dropbox has just announced a change in their plans for Pro users. Users on the 50GB and 100GB plans will now have their storage doubled at no extra cost. That means you’ll be getting 100GB if you were on the 50GB plan, and 200GB if you were previously on the 100GB plan. Beyond that, a new 500GB option was added for those who need even more storage.

The change for existing users will happen automatically. New users will be able to choose from the new options sometime tonight. Furthermore, Dropbox is now allowing Pro members to give friends and family a free three month trial on the Pro 100 plan. These changes can be nothing less than great and we’re glad to see that Dropbox listened to the many customers who’ve been requesting them. Head over to their blog for more information.

Sony LT30 pops up at Bluetooth SIG

It seems Sony will soon come to market with another heavyweight device. The Sony LT30 has popped up at the Bluetooth SIG. There’s no marketable name yet, but we know it’ll have an S4 processor and a 4.6 inch HD display.

It will also have 4G LTE, and adding all those things up gives cause to believe that a lot more exciting things will pop up under the hood. If you thought Sony’s last wave of phones were nothing to write home about you might want to keep this one in your radar. [Bluetooth SIG via Engadget]

Verizon Galaxy S III preorders hitting eager hands today!

Verizon Galaxy S III

There she be, folks! The Verizon Galaxy S III. We knew that Verizon, the last of the four major U.S. carriers to announce availability for the GSIII, had already shipped devices, and we knew that they'd be hitting doorsteps today. But there's nothing like actually seeing the thing unboxed and fired up, and that's just what's happening in our Galaxy S III forums.

If you're looking to go the traditional, terrestrial route, the Verizon Galaxy S III will be available in stores starting July 10.

The Galaxy Nexus Ban – this, too, shall pass

Google Nexus

It was a hell of a way to end the day, and a hell of a way to wake up. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been "banned." As of this morning, the holiest of holy days Americans can celebrate outside of a house of God, a day that celebrates slipping the shackles of tyranny, the Galaxy Nexus remains "banned." That we're even mentioning its name — let alone still giving them away out of contempt as much as generosity — almost makes it seem like we're sneaking smokes in the bathroom.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Nexus 7 dissected, looks like a tablet Inside

The hard-working guys from iFixit tore apart the brand new Nexus 7, and although it might not be the final retail version (the only one available at this point is the one from the Google I/O) it’s still nice to see what’s inside Google’s new tablet and how am inexpensive tablet is put together without making it feel cheep.

Guess what they found? It’s a tablet! No surprises, nothing weird or magic inside, just tablet hardware but still cool to see. It is pretty amazing that it takes such few parts to make something so amazing.

Nexus 7 torn down, found to have tablet parts inside

Nexus 7

The spudger-wielding technology sadists at iFixit are at it again, this time dissecting one of the new Nexus 7 tablets, presumably obtained from Google I/O, seeing as how they're not shipping yet. (Fun fact: We're expecting production quality to improve a little bit once these things go retail, so keep that in mind as you flip through their teardown.)

There's nothing surprising here — it's a tablet, with tablet parts. But it's still pretty cool to see it splayed out all over the place.
