Verizon’s Motorola DROID RAZR HD And RAZR MAXX HD Now Support Isis Mobile Wallet
Earlier this week, Isis Mobile Wallet payment platform went live on three U.S. carriers – Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. Verizon had only one device listed as supported at launch, with the DROID RAZR HD / MAXX HD compatibility set to arrive by the end of October. The Galaxy S III was also listed, but according to this list, it doesn’t seem to be ready just yet.
Two days ago, Verizon released the first update v0.7.2 for the RAZR HD variants with only a mention of one new feature in the changelog: an “updated Google Security Patch.” Today, Verizon amended the update document and added the mention of Isis Mobile Wallet, thus fulfilling its promise right on schedule.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD AND RAZR MAXX HD Smartphones Get Minor Security Update
Verizon’s hottest smartphones for the fall may be only a few weeks old, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t get a welcome update, right? Well Verizon and Motorola have announced a minor security update for the DROID RAZR/RAZR MAXX HD smartphones. The build— version 0.7.2.XT926— brings a “Google Security Patch”… which may or may not remove the ability for owners to partake in any shenanigans with the device.
The update is expected to reach owners sometime within the week, so if you’re an owner of either device, make sure you’re on the lookout for the update.

DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD Receive First Update – Only a Security Patch
The DROID RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD on Verizon are scheduled to receive their first update this week as build 0.7.2. The update includes nothing that you probably care about. In fact, it’s a “Google Security Patch,” which could mean that it’s simply a fix for the root method that was released just before [...]

DROID X2 Over-The-Air Update Being Pushed Out – Brings Bug Fixes And Google Security Patch
Motorola Droid X2 users should be expecting a 35MB over-the-air update hitting their device in the coming days. Software version 1.3.418.MB870 is being pushed out and will bring the usual set of bug fixes, a little added bloatware and some kind of “Google security patch.”
If you’ve been holding out, waiting for Android 4.0, it’s been all but confirmed that the device will most likely not be seeing an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in it’s lifetime (officially, anyway). Which is awfully strange seeing how a device with dual-cores was just about made for the new multi-threading improvements found in ICS. Who knows, maybe Motorola still has something up their sleeves for the ‘ol Droid X2 down the line.

Droid 2 Global Update Rolling Out Now, Breaks Root and Causes Issues for Rooted Users
The Droid 2 Global update we told you about recently is rolling out to all devices and proves to be a solid update for those users who remain unrooted and plan to stay that way. The update provides a few bug fixes such as the annoying Out of Memory errors, camera not saving settings after power down, random power-ups and reboots, and added a Google Security Patch. Like I said, if you like to keep your device stock this update should bring plenty of improvements but reports are showing the update breaks root.
Not only does this new update cause a few issues for rooted users, it also patches the vulnerability to gain root if that’s something you’re looking to do in the future. If you are rooted and you decide to update, I highly recommend not flashing an older SBF image as a few readers mention the possibility of bricking your device. The update provides an updated bootloader so things may go awry if you start flashing all willy-nilly. I would suggest staying away from the update if you are a root junkie like myself, but if you use your device like the manufacture intended, then the update will be no problem at all. To force the update go into: Settings–> About Phone–> System Update. From there you can apply the update without waiting for the notification to hit your device.
If you guys experience any issues, let us and the other readers know in the comments. Thanks! Also, if you want to look in to the root issues you can check out this Rootz thread.

Galaxy Nexus Kernel Patch using AC Charge for Faster Charging
Ever wish your poor little (awesome) Galaxy Nexus would charge just a little faster? Sure why not right? Well and XDA senior member by the name of chad0989 has built a kernel patch for faster charging. What this patch does is for an AC charge giving you less time for you GNex to be plugged into the wall.
Now this is not for any average Android “download and flash” user who is not confident in his abilities. This is for developers be placed in the kernel before it’s compiled. Yes I know. Big let down. But hey, bug these guys on the forum and I am sure they will be able to whip out this in no time.

Droid X2 Root Gingerbread Patch[Download][Instructions]
I was super excited this weekend to see P3Droid released a pre-rooted Gingerbread patch for the Droid X 2. I owned the Droid X since it came out and knew from experience sometimes it takes a while before your device will even get rumors of a Gingerbread update. Considering the X2 hasn’t been on the market too long, I am very optimistic after receiving an OTA Gingerbread update that my X2 may not have been forgotten.
If you don’t have completely stock Froyo, you are going to need to SBF back to stock. This means, if you used Titanium to remove or freeze system software, applied a custom rom, or ran any other modifications to your X2, you MUST SBF back to Stock Froyo 2.2.2.
Use the instructions in this thread to easily revert back to stock before applying P3Droid’s patch.
[HOW-TO] SBF back to stock Froyo, Update to P3Droids Pre-Rooted GB Update
That is the instructions I followed and I was patched to Gingerbread, fully rooted, with all bloat-ware removed, in less than an hour. I always recommend people use LauncherPro, for both my Droid X and Droid X2 they were both laggy in transitioning between home screens, unless I use LauncherPro.
Samsung Showcase Receives Update
Finally the Samsung Showcase (Galaxy S) on Cellular South receives that awaited EE25 update that brings quite a few bug fixes but still is better than nothing. No natter what, it is good to know and realize that finally Cellular South does something to make its line of the Android based devices feel comfortable. By the way, here is the list of fixes:
Fixed, Missed voice call while playing YouTube content
Fixed, Restore Buddies now contact list after upgrade
Fixed, Force-close issue when Voice call ringtone menu selected after setting Default ringtone
Fixed, Restore default ringtone if Speak Caller ID selected prior to upgrade EC10
Fixed, Google Client ID change
Google Rooting Security Patch
Google Market security patch
Google Security
As you can see, this upgrade won’t bring you cooking and repairing skills on your Samsung Showcase but the list of bugs mentioned should definitely make your working experience on Samsung Showcase a lot better. By the way, do not forget to backup your information as far as this update will make them vanish in eternity.

Patch Enables Netflix App On Rooted HTC Thunderbolts Running Gingerbread ROMs
When we posted on the work-around for enabling the Netflix app on unsupported devices, more than a few of you weren’t thrilled to hear that the fix didn’t work on the Thunderbolt.
